Sewing School

Would you like to learn basic stitches and hand sewing? Sewing School will provide you with a beginner sewing kit, notions, materials, books and an online learning curriculum. You will learn how to mend and repair clothing, sew a button, and create new items from simple patterns.

Eligibility Requirements: Open to all Michigan Youth age 6 to 14 interested in basic sewing skills. There are no demographic requirements for this program – youth from rural, urban and suburban areas are invited to apply. Preference will be given to participants with modest annual family income. Participants MUST reside in Michigan full time.

Application Materials: Provide a copy of a parent's drivers license and a report card (or other identifying document).
